At Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation, we believe it is our duty to keep you informed of how donations are used to support the hospital. Being accountable to our donors is a responsibility we take seriously and we do this in a number of ways:

  • Fiscally responsible
  • Using donor funds for their intended purpose and their impact on patient care
  • Respecting the privacy of donors
  • Meaningful recognition
  • Adhering to the highest standards of ethical practice
  • Legal compliance of the Canada Revenue Agency

SMGH Foundation believes that transparency and accountability are essential to our success - Together, We Will sustain our local community hospital.

 

Cost Per Dollar Raised

The Foundation strives to ensure that our organization is highly efficient and effective.  The Canada Revenue Agency recommends that charitable organizations keep their ‘Cost per Dollar Raised’ below 35 cents. The ‘Cost per Dollar Raised’ of the SMGH Foundation is only 28 cents! 

Even more impressive is the fact that, due to our Social Enterprise initiatives, our ‘Cost per Donated Dollar Raised’ is only 13 cents.  This means that 87 cents of every dollar donated to the Foundation last year went to the cause.  For those of you who aren’t familiar with what Social Enterprise is, it refers to the commercial strategies used by non-profit organizations to help maximize benefits to the community.  Our Social Enterprise programs include ATM Machines, Digital/Print Advertising, Television Rentals, and of course, Parking.  We are in the process of bringing a number of new and exciting Social Enterprise programs on board.

Our goal is to develop our Social Enterprise programs to the point that the revenue generated is enough to cover 100% of the Foundation’s operational expenses.
