TWIN ELMS ESTATES RESIDENTS & FRIENDS HELP FUND NEW SMGH LOBBY FURNITURE

The chairs in the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital (SMGH) lobby waiting area have been well-used by countless patients and visitors over the years, and are now greatly in need of replacement.  Unfortunately, new hospital furniture – just as new hospital medical equipment – is not funded through the Provincial Government.  It is only through the generosity of donors, and fundraising by the SMGH Foundation, that such items are provided for the hospital.

Twin Elms Estates residents and friends saw the need and importance of replacing these chairs for the hospital, and together raised an impressive $2,680 to help cover the cost.  The new seating will be healthcare facility approved and able to withstand the wear and tear for years to come.

“The waiting area in the SMGH lobby provides patients and their families with a lovely and comfortable place to visit and relax while loved-ones receive medical care,” says Susan McLean, SMGH Foundation CEO.  “Thanks to the gracious contributions of the residents and friends of Twin Elms Estates, this area will receive much-needed improvements.”

The new hospital lobby furniture is expected to arrive before the end of March.
