The Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation (SMGH Foundation) proudly announces the launch of Phase 1 of its largest fundraising campaign in 35 years, aimed at advancing and renewing vital patient care equipment at SMGH. This multi-year campaign will initially focus on the MRI Suite, located on the hospital’s main floor, with a fundraising goal of $8,640,000. To complete this phase, an additional $3,640,000 must be raised.
The campaign is set to officially launch with the announcement of three transformational donations towards the MRI Suite. These stories will be shared in the coming weeks.
Mike McGuire, Chair of the SMGH Foundation, emphasized the importance of the MRI Suite, which will enhance diagnostic options and improve patient care in the Strathroy-Caradoc region. The new MRI Department will not only facilitate early detection and treatment but also integrate with regional healthcare strategies, reducing wait times and improving overall care quality.
The addition of the MRI aligns with the hospital’s new strategic plan, “Caring for our Communities: Building our Future Together,” and is expected to be operational by spring 2025. Melanie Stanley, MHA Board Chair, urges community members to support the campaign, highlighting the collective effort needed to enhance healthcare services.
